A three-day Revised Basic Course Workshop in Medical Education Technologies was organized on 13th -15th December, 2017 by the Medical Education Unit of School of Medical Sciences & Research (SMS&R) under the aegis of MCI Regional Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, and the guidance of MCI observer Prof. Poonam Loomba, Department of Microbiology and Faculty of Medical Education Department, MAMC. A total of 26 faculty members from SMS&R attended the workshop.  The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Manisha Jindal, Dean, SMS&R. Following this, Dr. Ashok Bhatnagar, Faculty Coordinator MEU, briefed the participants about the objectives of the workshop i.e to   enrich and empower the faculty   by acquiring knowledge and skills in new concepts of teaching and assessment methods, a step towards implementation of competency based medical education in near future. The three day hands on workshop comprised of 21sessions, covering all the topics as suggested by the MCI.  All the sessions were interactive and had group activities to encourage participation of the trainees.  The sessions were conducted by nine facilitators namely Dr. Manisha Jindal, Dr.Ashok Bhatnagar, Dr. Nirupma Gupta, Dr. Poonam Kharb, Dr.  Saurabh Srivastava, Dr. Vikram Singh, Dr. Ashok Dubey, Dr. Suparna Dubey and Dr. Bijli Nanda. All the faculty members were trained at Regional Centre, MAMC, New Delhi. Prof. Poonam Loomba reinforced the sessions with insightful comments and suggestions throughout the workshop. Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. B. S.  Panwar and Prof. P.L. Kariholu, Pro-Vice chancellor (Medical Wing), Sharda University graced the valedictory function held on the concluding day.  Prof. B. S. Panwar, Prof. P.L. Kariholu and Prof. Poonam Loomba addressed the participants and stressed on the need for implantation of CBME. Some of the participants shared their reflections on the programme, stating that the workshop sessions had sensitized them to newer aspects of medical education which would strengthen their teaching skills and give them confidence to improve their role as medical teachers. Certificates of participation were awarded to all the participants by Prof. Poonam Loomba. Dr. B.S. Singh presented the memento to Dr. Poonam Loomba and Prof. P.L. Kariholu presented the certificates to all the facilitators. Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Manisha Jindal. Finally, the program concluded with a group photograph of all the participants and facilitators.
