About Department

Department of Medicine is the largest Department of School of Medical Science & Research. The Department consists  of adequate member of energetic & dedicated faculty members. The team is supported by well trained staff of Junior& Senior Residents who are available round the clock for emergency as well as for indoor patients (IPD).

Indoor Patients (IPD)

The hospital provides free IPD services in general wards and The IPD strength of the department is of 240 beds spaced between the male & female wards of 120 each. There are additional beds for critically ill patients in a well designed and well equipped Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), and Casualty Medical ICU. Depending upon the status of patients monitary status there are well furnished and comfortable private rooms with careful nursing care.

Outdoor Patients (OPD)

In addition to general Medical OPD, the department also runs various super specialty clinics in Cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology & endocrinology run by experienced faculty in the concerned specialty. In addition there is separate Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) dedicated for cardiac patients under the expert guidance of experienced Cardiologist.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

Regular UG MBBS and BDS clinical teaching is carried out in the Department. The Department also runs its academic programs under the expert guidance of faculty members in its own CME/Seminar Room. The seminar room is equipped with LCD Projector & a Laptop. The Junior & Senior Residents take active participation in teaching programs as per the departmental schedule.

CARDIOLOGY SECTION.

In cardiology section Cardiology OPD is run daily by Dr. A. Deshmukh DM (Cardiology) and patients are being referred by the physicians and all other departments of the hospital. Non – invasive procedures are carried out on vivid-3 color Doppler Echo machine from G.E. and daily aprox 8 to 10 Color Doppler Echocardiography on OPD s and referred patients from various IPD units of whole SHARDA HOSPITAL and also computerized T.M.T. machine from G.E. is used for the stress testing of OPD & IPD patients.
