About Department
The department of Ophthalmology provides advanced world class treatment in eye diseases, Phacoemulsification, Glaucoma services, Vitreo-Retina services ,Neuro ophthalmology services,Squint services,Contact Lens services,Low Visiov Aid fitting ,Eye banking and Keratoplasty and Ophthalmoplasty with the aim of providing world class, timely,friendly Services which are free of cost. Eye department alone treated 1372 patients even in covid era and performed 708 surgeries.

The eye department is fully equipped with latest state of the art machines from USA and Germany providing world class class surgical and medical treatment. The department of Ophthalmology is catering population residing in urban area of Greater Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar and areas of Western Uttar Pradesh.

Cataract surgery: safe & effective phacoemulsification of cataract.
Squint and Pediatric ophthalmology: squint correction surgeries, congenital & developmental cataract extraction with IOL implantation are routinely being performed.
Ophthalmoplasty Ophthalmic plastic surgery is a specialized area of ophthalmology dealing with cosmetic and functional deformities and abnormalities of the eyelids, the lacrimal system and the orbit.
Comprehensive Glaucoma management: is being provided with Applanation tonometry,Gonioscopy and automated visual field Analyzer,OCT,Fundus Photography
Diagnosis and management of retinal and vitreous diseases is is being provided by FFA ,OCT, Laser treatment and operative management of blinding diseases like Diabetic retinopathy and Age related macular degeneration.
Teaching Programme: The department is engaged in teaching & training of 150 under graduate students and 6 Post graduate students in all above mentioned procedures.
Community Ophthalmology
The urban centre located at Banghel, Noida SMS&R and Sharda Hospital is fully equipped, providing ocular services to thickly dense population of phase 2 Noida and one rural centre at Panchayatan village,.
The department is regularly doing screening camps in several villages of Gautam Budha Nagar and school screening programs as a part of community service.
