Dr. Sama Rizvi is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at the School of Medical Sciences and Research, Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida. A Gold Medalist in MS (ENT and Head & Neck Surgery), she has consistently demonstrated excellence in clinical practice, teaching, and research. Her professional journey reflects dedication to academic growth, patient care, and medical advancement. She is also a DNB-qualified otorhinolaryngologist with additional expertise in pediatric allergy and asthma, holding a diploma from the University of Colorado. Dr. Rizvis academic and clinical interests encompass otology, rhinology, and head and neck surgery, with a focus on innovative and evidence-based approaches.

Experience

Dr. Sama Rizvi has extensive clinical and teaching experience in the field of Otorhinolaryngology. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at SMS&R, Sharda Hospital. She previously served as a Senior Resident in the same department from May 2022 to June 2025 and completed her postgraduate residency at Sharda Hospital from 2019 to 2022. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she actively served in Red Zone and ICU duties, contributing significantly to patient management. She began her medical journey with a compulsory rotating internship at HAHC Hospital, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi in 2017, gaining early exposure to multidisciplinary healthcare settings.

Qualification

Dr. Sama Rizvi completed her MBBS from Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, New Delhi, in 2016. She obtained her MS in ENT and Head & Neck Surgery from Sharda University in 2022, where she was awarded the Gold Medal for academic excellence. She also holds a DNB in ENT (2024) and a Diploma in Paediatric Allergy and Asthma from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and the University of Colorado (2024). These qualifications reflect her dedication to continuous learning and advancement in both surgical skill and specialized medical training.

Award & Recognition

Dr. Rizvi was awarded the Gold Medal for her outstanding performance in MS (ENT and Head & Neck Surgery) at Sharda University. She secured the third position in the ENT Quiz at the Otorhinolaryngology Workshop organized by Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, in 2021. She has also served as the Organizing Secretary for the World Voice Day Conference held in April 2025, demonstrating her active involvement in academic events and medical conferences.

Research

Dr. Sama Rizvi has published and contributed to multiple national and international journals. Her notable works include studies and case reports on oral carcinoma, anosmia and dysgeusia in COVID-19, rare ENT pathologies, and pediatric and allergic airway diseases. Her ongoing and published research spans journals such as the Indian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, Cureus, International Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, Thoracic Research and Practice, and Iranian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology. She continues to focus on areas like allergic rhinitis, asthma, and surgical advancements in ENT.

Certifications

Dr. Rizvi has successfully completed several specialized workshops and training programs to enhance her academic and surgical skills. She holds a Diploma in Paediatric Allergy and Asthma (2024) and has cleared her DNB in ENT the same year. She has participated in the Cadaveric Anterior Skull Base and FESS Workshop at RML Hospital (2025), a Laryngology Hands-On Thyroplasty and Laser Workshop (2023), and a Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop (2023). She has also undertaken Paediatric COVID-19 Management Training conducted by Medical Education and Research, India (2021), reflecting her ongoing dedication to professional growth.

Area of Interest

Her clinical interests include otology, rhinology, laryngology, and head & neck surgeries. She is skilled in procedures such as total thyroidectomy, parotidectomy, FESS, tracheostomy, septoplasty, tympanoplasty, and mastoidectomy. She is also passionate about pediatric airway management, allergy research, and academic mentorship of medical students.
