Overview
MS General Surgery is a three-year postgraduate programme dedicated to training students for operative procedures (commonly known as surgery) related to various diseases and injuries. The coursework of the programme includes a balance of practical sessions and theoretical lectures that imparts knowledge on surgical treatment of abdominal organs including liver, stomach, colon, intestines oesophagus, thyroid gland and hernia.
Students under this programme are prepared to carry out diagnostic procedures along with prevention and treatment. Upon completion of the programme, the aspirants gain the ability to practice the speciality of surgery in keeping with the principles of professional ethics. In addition to mastering clinical expertise, the programme equips students' with the skills to manage the patients of trauma effectively.
