“Mahila Swasthya Diwas” on occasion of International Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28th May 2022

Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Sharda Welfare foundation organized an event “Mahila Swasthya Diwas” on occasion of International Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28th May 2022.
Event objectives-
- To sensitize the community regarding Menstrual Hygiene and Gender sensitization.
- To make the community aware of Unhygienic Menstrual Practices and their adverse effects on their health
- To organize a general health checkup and anemia screening camp for the reproductive age female of the community
Event description
- Activities were planned and coordinated at RHTC by Dr. Amit Singh Pawaiya, Dr. Neha Tyagi, Dr. Ambren Chauhan & Dr.Himanshu Tanwar on 28th May 2022 from 10:00 am – 01:30 pm under the guidance of Dr. Shalini Srivastava and Dr. Harsh Mahajan and collaboration of Sharda Welfare foundation.
- Dr. Ambren Chauhan, Assistant professor department of Community Medicine introduced the session by welcoming the chief guest and community. A brief talk on reproductive health issues, gender equity, gender sensitization and various government schemes related to reproductive health.
- A Health awareness session at RHTC Panchayatan was given by Dr.Sangeeta Khanna (3rd year P.G. in the Department of Community Medicine), on the topic of the Importance of maintaining Menstrual Hygiene for females of reproductive age group”
- It was followed by a skit performed by the interns of the 2017 batch (Faraz Ahmad, Geetika Bhan, Govind Singh Maan, and Huzwa Showkat) highlighting the importance of menstrual hygiene and use of sanitary pads.
